Overview

The Director of Pharmacy Operations assures that the mission, goals and strategy of Presbyterian Pharmacies are being met via strategic planning, operational management and financial accountability in areas of responsibility.

This position has a focus on people from recruiting, interviewing and onboarding to training, evaluation and development. The ideal candidate will focus on process improvment, strong cross-functional partnerships, vendor managment and over site of day to day operations.

Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D required.
* Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy license required.
* Five years pharmacy experience required.
* Three years of medication safety experience preferred.
* Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency preferred.
* Specialized training/experience in medication safety preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience managing multiple locations with inpatient, ambulatory, and infusion pharmacies
* 10 plus years of managment experience
* Team based leader
* Organized with a passion for project management

Responsibilities

* Provides and maintains effective communications with Medical Staff, the community and all levels of leadership staff.
* Establishes and implements standardized policies and procedures for pharmacy operations.
* Works closely with other hospital departments to ensure the pharmacy is providing the appropriate services to other departments in a timely manner.
* Provides pharmacy leadership across all facilities and locations within the PHS delivery system.
* Coordinates the development of goals and plans for the Albuquerque and Regional pharmacy departments and facilitates monitoring progress toward achievement.
* Assures each pharmacy department compliance with local, state and federal regulations and oversees the correction of any deficiencies. Establishes and and ensures that each department operates within budget.
* Develops department plans, goals around budget and monitors adherence to the goals developed with pharmacy directors
* Selects and gives guidance to Pharmacy managers. With their partnership, develops standards of performance, summarizes evaluation of performance and initiates necessary personnel actions.
* Develops and implements standardized pharmacy philosophy, priorities, department policies and procedures.
* Oversees the standardization of pharmaceutical formulary across the system and related contracting functions.
* Oversees the development and implementation of pharmacy automation across the system and ensures standardization of products.
* Develops and maintains current knowledge of national trends in pharmacy, general healthcare trends, current and emerging market forces and regulatory and legislative initiatives.
* Responsible for overall management of the pharmacy departments within the PHS Central Delivery System. Provides dotted line leadership and oversight for pharmacy departments in Regional Delivery System.
* Represents Pharmacy at local, state and national meetings.
* Performs other functions as required
