As a the RDC Pharmacy Directo, you will be responsible for oversight of the pharmacy operations, product formulary, system integrity, quality assurance and issue resolution and customer interfacing for the consolidated pharmacy services at the RDC. This includes but is not limited to packaging, barcoding, inventory management, regulatory compliance and pharmacy specific competencies. This role will assist in ensuring compliance with RDC pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure all federal and state regulations are strictly adhered to. The pharmacist will also ensure all appropriate records are maintained and that all quality assurance validation occurs in accordance with Board of Pharmacy or State Department of Health rules and regulations

What you will do in this role:
  • Perform pharmacist check of packaged, labeled and bar-coded pharmaceuticals as required; assures accuracy of all packaged and bar-coded pharmaceutical products
  • Verify accuracy of barcode and drug changes being communicated to facilities required for linking in Pharmacy Information Systems
  • Develop the knowledge, coaches and appraises on the skills and the functional competency of pharmacy technicians and all other pharmacy staff involved in the packaging and distribution activities
  • Oversee and coordinate daily workflow in RDC pharmacy and ensures staffing is adequate to complete work as needed
  • Oversee the development, education, implementation and compliance of policies and procedures related to pharmacy quality assurance activities
  • Assure integrity and security of all pharmaceuticals stored in all locations and automation within RDC • Ensures tracking of all lot number and expiration dates of RDC packaged pharmaceuticals if applicable
  • Ensure all federal drug recall policies and procedures are followed
  • Oversee the audit process for picked pharmaceuticals including maintenance of records
  • Oversee all policies and procedures for barcoding, packaging and quality processes
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the inventory manager, buyer or analyst for the substitution of therapeutic equivalent products in the case of shortages, backorders or recalls
  • Ensure all federal, state and local hazardous pharmacy waste policies and procedures are followed
  • Oversee overall inventory management, RDC formulary and stocking strategy for pharmaceuticals in the RDC in collaboration with supported divisions and corporate supply chain pharmacy team
  • Support organization supply expense goals and contributes to supply expense mitigation plan, savings plans and prevention of expired product
  • Assist in the development of the RDC pharmacy budget related to packaging operations if applicable

Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Required
  • Continuing Education credits current per state law Required
  • Five (5) years of experience in Pharmacy Required
  • Pharmacy supervisory experience Required
  • Experience in acute care pharmacy practice Preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered
  • Current pharmacy license in good standing Required
