Manages the general accounting, fixed assets, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and monthly close functions.  Contributes to accounting/financial reporting of PharMerica Corporation.


Essential Functions:

•             Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure effective internal control over financial reporting, and accurate recording and reporting of the General Ledger, accounting of fixed assets, and accounting and financial reporting of PharMerica Corporation.

•             Ensures employees receive training, development, coaching, and motivation for effective performance and retention.

•             Ensures compliance with all policies, rules, regulations, and laws; stays abreast of legal, regulatory, and policy developments as well as audit guidelines affecting areas of responsibility

•             Enforces legal and regulatory requirements impartially

•             Reviews financial reporting for compliance with GAAP

•             Approves implementation of financial control mechanisms and system internal controls after evaluation for risk and compliance with policy, GAAP, and external regulations.

•             Oversees monthly closing process and monthly reporting

•             Oversees accounts payable department, including weekly accounts payable processing.

•             Ensures that staff responds to accounting-related inquiries.  Responds to senior management requests for various opinions or reports regarding financial analysis or accounting treatment.

•             Performs other tasks as assigned.

Position Qualifications

•             Education/Learning Experience

             Required:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field


•             Work Experience

             Required: 5-8 years of financial, accounting, and managerial experience



•             Skills/Knowledge

             Required: Expert knowledge of accounting principles and processes; knowledge of integrated financial systems; excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.


•             Licenses/Certifications 

             Required:  CPA
