PeaceHealth is seeking a Director Ancillary and Guest Services for a 1.0 full time equivalent Exempt position. This position will be working Variable shift with shift durations of Variable.

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Ancillary and Guest Services is responsible for providing leadership to assigned units; continually improves service and operations to ensure that safe, reliable and high quality care and patient experiences are provided; creates an environment that supports caregivers and enhances growth, communication and job satisfaction; develops long and short term business strategies, operational plans and oversees implementation; and manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction.  Responsible for quality, service and regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility.

 

The Director of Ancillary and Guest Services builds relationships resulting in compassionate and committee teams and with all stakeholders.  All work must be done with a thorough understanding of and commitment to PeaceHealth culture, including core values and Leadership Model.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Work closely with leadership throughout the organization to maximize operational efficiencies and meet capital and operating budget goals.  Participate in operational planning and implementation of organizational strategic plans and ensure overall operational performance.
  2. Manage operational units as assigned including providing leadership for clinical excellence, personnel management, fiscal accountability, operational effectiveness, and positive relations with other departments, members of the medical staff, physician practices and all stakeholders within scope and span of control.
  3. Promotes change, facilitates redesign, and implements systems and processes to maintain compliance with regulatory standards, state and federal laws, PeaceHealth policies, and accreditation within all programs and clinical units. Resolves escalated, complex issues and questions.
  4. Leads or participates in projects, task forces and committees in area of expertise that drive innovation, quality, value and/or better service to customers and caregivers.
  5. Develops and implements cost-savings, authorizes and monitors budget expenditures and manages the budget planning process for assigned areas of responsibilities. Examines, analyzes and implements innovative solutions to increase productivity and quality.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

EDUCATION:         

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare field required.

 

  • Master’s degree required or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the incumbent with the requisite knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform the job, with the agreement to obtain within 3 years of date of hire.

 

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience required.
  • Experience in facilitative leadership, team process, troubleshooting and follow-through of projects is required.

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

  • If RN: Current clinical licensure in the state of practice as required to practice.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to deliver financial results for areas of accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient use of computers including MS Office applications.
  • Strong customer service and results focus.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and work independently.
  • Ability to motivate and coach caregivers, promote on-going learning and lead improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on, prioritize and manage multiple projects is required.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive community relationships.
