The Director, Team Lead, Commercial & Medical Systems is responsible to establish and execute the US IT strategy for the US Commercial & Medical organizations. This role is a pivotal position ensuring that US deliverables are met as it relates to IT solutions. A liaison between global IT infrastructure and framework, the successful individual will influence and manage necessary stakeholders to push through hurdles associated with competing perspectives and schedules. Establishing clear US Governance across US business functions and pulling through to the larger Global delivery model will be a key to success in this role. This leader will manage multiple external relationships with key service providers specific to the US, while transparently communicating with Global IT leaders.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Team leadership; lead a high performing team by example. Develop strategic partnership with the business by inclusive leadership as these team members will be strongly connected to their business partners.
  • Develop deep partnerships with business leaders and their direct reports to fully understand issues and goals. Together, with direct reports, US IT leadership and global IT partners, make strategic recommendations (i.e. roadmaps) that meet and exceed organizational goals. Enable direct reports to be successful in those outcomes.
  • Leverage best practices learned from prior experiences and connections with external resources that inform of cutting-edge advances.
  • Solution and drive strategies that maximize budgets
  • Prioritize strategic recommendations and outcomes based on changes and hurdles
  • Provide leadership in the establishment of KPI's that drive adoption and use of implemented technologies inclusive of training, ongoing education & evolution of needs.
  • Subject Matter Expert for the use of Veeva working closely with field teams and sales training and technology associated to digital marketing campaigns
  • Lead major implementation projects, ensuring external and internal stakeholders and resources are identified and ensuring either individually or through direct reports that all major milestones and deliverables are met
  • Ensure all aspects of compliance are met in collaboration with business stakeholders and compliance partners

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; IT related field preferred. Advanced degree considered in lieu of experience.
  • 10 or more years' experience in an IT related role in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with some or all of this experience in a business partner role for commercial departments (Sales, Marketing, Medical, Market Access). Experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience as a value added, strategic partner to business leadership driving outcomes that will exceed organizational goals, be effective and efficient
  • Experience in a global, matrix environment; able to influence and drive outcomes necessary for success
  • Experience establishing a team inclusive of hiring, development, and performance management.
  • Experience managing external vendor relationships, associated contracting & procurement process, and individual contractors/consultants.
  • Experience with associated technologies such as Quality Systems (Veeva Vault), CRM, CLM, RTE, Engage, Open Data; LMS Systems, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Website (create and manage)
