PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Responsible for enabling the delivery of Corning Incorporated’s communication, marketing and branding initiatives through the continuous improvement of customer experience across Corning’s digital channels. Also responsible for securing funding for strategic investment in Corning’s digital platforms to enable enterprise digital capabilities and meet strategic business metrics for improved customer engagement, experience, and satisfaction.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead digital strategy, develop the digital capabilities roadmap, interface with senior business stakeholders to secure investment funding, and communicate current capabilities and future strategy for digital channels across the enterprise.

• Research industry standards, trends, breakthroughs and best practices, and drive the digital roadmap to advance Corning’s digital effectiveness. Identify opportunities for digital innovation across marketing, brand and communications strategies to improve audience engagement and customer experience within digital channels.

• Select, integrate and measure strategic internal and external digital marketing agency relationships to enable continuous improvement of Corning’s digital capabilities in support of marketing, brand, and communications initiatives.

• Represent corporate marketing, branding and digital functions in aligning platforms against strategic corporate and business objectives. Optimize functional business processes, and develop digital specialists as subject matter experts for digital standards, policies, procedures, and strategic goals. Contribute to the Digital Center of Excellence efforts and help maintain partnerships with the marketing, communications and social media managers in the business units and staff groups.

• Liaise with communications, brand and commercial business leaders across the enterprise to maintain brand and functional consistency across the platforms and where appropriate, realize digital customer experience goals on strategic revenue-generating initiatives.

• Collaborate with marketing, brand and communications leaders to define and enable tracking and reporting of metrics and KPI’s for measuring digital program effectiveness.

• Ensure Corning’s investments in digital technology, internal staff, external vendors, and functional processes are successfully enabling Corning’s marketing, brand and communications objectives.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree • 5-10 years professional relevant experience in a global organization, working across different time zones and cultures.

• Experience leading digital platform transformation efforts. Successful track record leading digital project management activities. Five to seven years of experience responsible for delivery of digital experience.

• At least 5 years in a management position, leading distributed global teams of direct reports. Demonstrated track record of managing team goals, strategy, organizational design and talent development.

• Proven experience managing budgets in an efficient manner leading to demonstrated ROI.

• Proven management experience in one or more of the following areas:

o Program management efforts involving the coordination of resources and goals across multiple related projects

o Financial planning and budget management.

o Leading multi-disciplined, high-performance work teams

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Deep understanding of technical and functional capabilities required for successful digital execution.

• Successful track record of managing critical vendor relationships and delivering ROI.

• Deep understanding of content development, information technology and architecture, site design, search-engine optimization and web analytics.

• Research and analytical skills to define the right problems and design the right solutions.

• A motivational team player.

• Ability to create presentations for executive audiences.

• Ability to manage large-scale projects, competing priorities and adapt quickly to changing needs.

• Ability to advocate for the strategic goals and principles of digital stakeholder groups.

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• User Interface design (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

• Management of digital experience management platforms (Adobe Experience Manager)

• Management of website search platforms (Solr, Lucidworks Fusion)

• Management digital asset creation and management platforms (Adobe Creative Suite and AEM Digital Asset Management)

• Management of search engine optimization and search engine marketing programs (Organic and Paid Google Search, Google AdWords)

• Management of Website analytics platforms (Google Analytics / 360)

• Experience with Customer Relationship Management Platforms

• Experience with Marketing Automation platforms and associated website and analytics integration
