SUMMARY:

The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing external and internal communications materials and plans in support of both commercial and corporate communications across key stakeholder groups. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Public Relations, this role will coordinate with Marketing, Investor Relations, Commercial, Medical Affairs and Human Resources to implement strategies to drive global reputation consistently and compliantly across multiple channels and platforms, including digital, broadcast, print media, and social media.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support execution of commercial and corporate communications programs externally (including brand/product launches, health care professional communications, media relations, social media) and internally (commercial team communications, employee communications)
  • Partner with other functional team members to develop and maintain overall stewardship of the corporate brand, positioning, and messaging; ensure consistency across channels
  • Create and project manage commercial and corporate communications campaigns and materials including press releases, internal/external collateral, executive presentations, speeches, and social/digital content; guide internal review and approval processes
  • Copywriting, editing and quality control, for all written, verbal and digital communications to internal and external stakeholders including employees, health care professionals, media etc.
  • Manage corporate communications calendar and help liaise between key internal and external partners, including partner agencies, to drive alignment, capture ongoing updates and initiatives throughout the year
  • Create and manage content / content calendars for corporate traditional and digital platforms including website, social media channels, intranet and marketing automation campaigns; maintain frequent, consistent engagement opportunities with interested parties, including potential employees, investors, etc.
  • Establish and maintain scalable processes that ensure best practices in campaign and communications management; monitor key performance indicators across channels
  • Execute strategies in compliant manner and consistent with applicable FDA regulations on disease awareness campaigns and promotional communications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of hands-on experience with direct responsibility in communications/corporate communications, marketing and media relations preferably in Biotech, Pharmaceuticals, or Medical Device industries
  • Previous experience as a Communications Manager, Advisor or Coordinator for 2+ years
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of marketing automation systems, including Salesforce, Google Analytics, CRM systems and content management systems
  • Experience participating in and/or coordinating promotional reviews, PRC/MLR meetings/workflows and/or compliance reviews; ability to utilize related digital asset or content management systems
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Strong facilitation and project management, planning, critical-thinking, teamwork and organizational skills
  • Expertise in communicating scientific information
  • Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information with the ability to exercise discretion and show good judgment; honesty, integrity, and trust building behaviors in all dealings is essential and required
  • BA/BS preferably in communications, marketing, journalism or digital marketing

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to interact effectively with personnel at all levels and in all disciplines, both internally and externally
  • Travel to key industry meetings as required, estimated at 10-15% of time
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while ensuring quality and operate within an evolving, fast-paced, real-time environment
  • Strong project management skills and an ability to complete projects with limited supervision
  • Specific familiarity or experience in relevant therapeutic or aesthetic area(s) an asset
