Job Summary
Assists in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the nurse manager. Maintains a clean, safe patient care environment and performs job responsibilities in a safe manner.

Essential Functions
  • Performs personal care for the comfort and wellbeing of the patient.
  • Assists with ordering supplies and notifying charge teammate of par levels.
  • Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and other vital signs.
  • Assists patients and team members with transfers to bed, wheelchair, stretcher, and transports patients.
  • Keeps the holding area/bays stocked, neat and tidy.
  • Conveys relevant information to the appropriate team members.
  • Communicates with patients, visitors, physicians, nursing team and various healthcare workers by answering telephone and providing assistance.
  • Places calls to physician offices and related hospital departments to schedule appointments, tests and procedures.
Physical Requirements
Work requires waling, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 75 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment and supplies.

Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an approved Nurse Aide II Training Program or student nurses meeting the listing requirements of the DFS Nurse Aide II Registry and currently listed with the Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide II & Nurse Aide I by DFS required. CPR certification required.
