Overview

Provides pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the pharmacy department. In providing this care, the pharmacist will review all drug orders and judge the appropriateness of those orders, i.e. appropriate drug, dose, frequency, etc. in the assigned clinical area or upon requests by a physician. Drug related problems, such as potential allergic reactions, drug interactions, and other problems, will be identified and resolved. Pharmacists are expected to focus the full potential of their knowledge and experience on the assessment and improvement of patient care.

Responsibilities

* Provides patient-focused pharmaceutical care through rational, safe and cost-effective drug therapy management, patient education, and drug information.
* Participates in the development and presentation of orientation, education, and training programs to the pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff and to other parties as appropriate upon request.
* Participates in organizational and departmental research efforts including clinical research, quality improvement projects and medication use evaluation activities and facilitates effective communication relative to the initiatives
* Engages in professional self-development.

Qualifications

* Other Pharm.D. + 2 years residency training, degree in pharmacy from an accredited school and 1-2 years experience or
* One of the following: Licensed Pharmacist - MO, Licensed Pharmacist - KS required upon hire
* PHARM LIC MO Licensed Pharmacist - MO Missouri licensure Required Upon Hire
* PHARM LIC KS Licensed Pharmacist - KS Kansas licensure if practicing at CHC or South Required Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $50.92, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
