Clinical Pharmacist - Oncology - $10,000 Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Available!

Hours/Shift: Full Time/Days

Minimum Requirements:

* Education: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
* Licensure: Licensed in the State of Arizona required within 180 days of hire
* Certification: Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 residency and Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) Oncology Pharmacist Certification, or PGY-2 residency in Oncology, or BPS Oncology Pharmacist Certification
* Experience: At least three years providing clinical pharmacy care for oncology patient
* Preferences, but not required: Advanced pharmacy residency with extensive oncology experience. Experience working in an integrated care team. Three years hospital pharmacy experience. BPS Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist.

Kingman Healthcare, Inc. is a sole community hospital. Our department encompasses over 60 employees to serve our population's health. These are exciting, busy times in our Pharmacy as we strive to provide a full suite of pharmacy care services from acute care and transitions into ambulatory, home and telehealth care areas. A solid infrastructure to support our pharmacy services is in place, with our current focus to optimize and integrate our services. These service focus areas include: Inpatient, Emergency Department pharmacist direct patient care, Care Transitions - medication reconciliation/meds to beds prior to hospital discharge, outpatient and specialty pharmacy drug distribution, 340B Program and financial integrity expansion, oncology clinical model expansion including oral chemotherapy and pharmacogenomics, PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program, Stewardship-Antimicrobial and Opioid, and expansion of our pharmacist collaborative practice model Disease Management Clinic. All our endeavors strive to provide the best possible pharmaceutical care to meet the needs of our community and organization.

Pharmacy Oncology Clinical Specialist will be integral in providing services to the:

* WL Nugent Cancer Center - This is the largest cancer treatment provider in northwest Arizona, offering skilled expertise combined with some of modern medicine's most advanced technologies in treating cancer. These capabilities enable us to provide highly effective treatment such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy. Close collaboration with the Cancer Center medical staff is expected during patient visits, distribution activities, and investigational drug studies. The partnership with the National Cancer Institute's Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) brings clinical trials to our own community to expand access to cancer management, prevention, screening, and cancer care delivery.
* Outpatient Infusion Center - This vital service provides a safe and comfortable setting for infusion therapy through a partnership with Amerita Specialty Infusion Services. Patients have access to antibiotic therapy, biologicals, blood product administration (IVIG), blood transfusions, hydration, iron replacement, and pain management.

The pharmacist will also be provided with opportunities that include:

* Serving as a preceptor for IPPE/APPE students and PGY1 residents
* Completing a teaching certificate or other identified learning opportunities
* Actively participating in community outreach at KRMC annual health fairs and event
* Educating the community through KRMC's multiple platforms (e.g. radio program, local newspaper articles, and medclip videos)

Key Responsibilities:

As the Oncology Pharmacist, Oncology Pharmacist Specialist provides comprehensive evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy management and direct patient care for individuals with cancer from initial education through the entire pharmaceutical care of the patient. The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert in a multidisciplinary team care approach, providing recommendations to physicians and advanced practitioners.

Serves as a pharmacy oncology clinical practice leader, promoting high quality, cost-effective oncology pharmaceutical care, including treatment assessment and monitoring for potential adverse drug reactions and interactions. Provides medication education to patients, physicians, and other healthcare members, managing regulatory compliance, maintaining security of medications, and protecting confidentiality of patient information. Supervises and provides oncology pharmacy clinical activities, including but not limited to antineoplastic, cancer pain, and general oncology pharmaceutical care for patients in our Cancer Center and other clinical areas as assigned.
