The KH Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Pharmacist will deliver optimal medication therapy to patients within the oncology service line at Kettering Health. The Clinical Pharmacist participates in all necessary aspects of the oral oncolytic medication-use program while providing comprehensive and individualized pharmaceutical care to the patients in their assigned areas. Pharmaceutical care services include but are not limited to assessing patient needs, providing patient education, adjusting care according to patient response, and providing clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events. The Clinical Pharmacist will serve as a KH Specialty Pharmacy departmental resource and liaison for all oncology providers and staff. They will proficiently manage and facilitate the appropriate use of oral oncology medications according to professional and regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS• Assists and supports in development and implementation of innovative pharmacy services.• Responds to questions concerning medications from physicians, students, medical and non-professional personnel in a timely manner.• Documents all activities and interventions in the course of practicing pharmaceutical care.• Assists in the evaluation of performance and training of the Patient Care Pharmacist in developing clinical skills involved with providing pharmaceutical care.• Communicates effectively as needed with physicians or other health professionals concerning any aspects of therapy involving medications.• Effectively precept assigned pharmacy students and pharmacy residents.

JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum EducationPharm.D. degree or equivalent training/experience.Minimum Work ExperiencePrevious clinical pharmacy experience is preferred.Required LicensesPossess a valid Ohio pharmacist license, or be eligible to receive licensure
