Overview Mostly days 7:00am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm. 1-2 days a week evening shift 11:00am-7:30pm. Oncall 1-2 nights/wk. Every 5th weekend 7:00am-3:30pm. Pharmacist will work primarily at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. Day shift with 1 rotating night shift per week, potentialy 2 to cover PTO. When they work the weekend they will work the Friday night prior and be on call all weekend. Oncall coverage is for St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa, St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota and Center for Health in Streator. POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Pharmacist reviews prescriptions, obtains clarifications, analyzes drug therapy and regularly consults with medical staff, nursing personnel and others in order to coordinate delivery of high quality pharmaceutical services to OSF HealthCare patients. In addition, the clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for compounding and dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures and professional pharmacy practice. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS Pharmacy. License (or eligibility for licensure) to practice pharmacy in the state of Illinois and/or Michigan, as applicable to the location of work. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD.). Pharmacy Practice PGY1. 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience serving a variety of patient types. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and various other OSF HealthCare personnel when explaining medication use and gathering and exchanging other medication information. Analytical skills necessary in order to determine drug appropriateness and evaluate drug interactions. Demonstrated skills in independent problem solving, decision‑making abilities, and prioritization/delegation. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner. Competency in the use of an electronic medical record system.
