As a clinical pharmacist in the Medicare Part D formulary team, you will support the day-to-day operations related to ensuring accuracy of formularies submitted to CMS and ensure formularies are correctly implemented and adjudicated in the claim system. The chosen candidate will be responsible for participating in Medicare Part D formulary submission and related formulary operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Translate CMS, formulary, and pharmacy practice requirements into developing business / operational processes
  • Support development and maintenance of clinical data attributes
  • Ensure that implemented formularies are consistent with HPMS filed formularies
  • Identify and trouble - shoot issues that require correction
  • Medicare Part D formulary submission
  • Implementing initiatives related to new CMS requirements
  • Meeting CMS regulatory requirements for Part D and ensuring compliance related to formulary administration
  • Oversee pharmacy projects from inception to completion
  • Provide responses to drug inquiry requests
  • Develop marketing materials
  • Leading quality initiatives related to the formulary operations
  • Ensuring compliance related to formulary administration
  • Present formulary updates and formulary submission recommendations to clients

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharm. D Degree
  • Current and unrestricted Pharmacy License
  • 2+ years of experience as a licensed pharmacist
  • Proficiency and experience with Excel and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PBM (Pharmacy Benefits Management) experience
  • Pharmacy residency experience
  • Formulary Operations and / or Submissions experience
  • Experience working within a PBM and/or Managed Care Organization
  • Medicare Part D experience
  • Experience presenting to clients
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Organizational skills
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to present formulary recommendations to clients on a frequent basis

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
