This position will primarily provide psychiatry care to a variety of pediatric outpatient care with some coverage of adult outpatient care. The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

Principal Duties:

Provide psychiatric care for a variety of pediatric and/or adult patients (90%):

* Provide care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Service on appropriate department and medical school committees.
* Participate in other department teaching activities.
* Share in call schedules.

Provide supervision, mentorship, and teaching (10%):

* Supervise, mentor, and teach psychiatric residents, psychology interns and medical students.
* The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

* MD/DO Required.
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Adult or Child Psychiatry with a firm plan to complete certification requirements.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

* Successful completion of residency in Psychiatry.
* At least one year of clinical experience in the treatment of psychiatric disorders preferred.
* Candidates for clinical associate professor or clinical professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Clinician-Teacher track.

License or Certificate:

* Wisconsin Medical License obtained by start date.
* DEA certifications obtained by start date.
* Credentialed with UW Health managed care plans, credentialing and staff privileges at UW Hospital, UnityPoint Health Meriter Hospital, and VA Middleton must be completed by start date.

Additional Information:

A criminal background check and caregiver check will be required.
