Certified Pharmacy TechnicianGeneral Summary:A motivated, nationally certified pharmacy technician who has registered with theOhio State Board of Pharmacy (OSBP) to work under the supervision of aRegistered Pharmacist in accordance with applicable state and federal laws toperform a variety of duties assisting the pharmacist.Responsibilities:Fill Automated Dispensing Units and remove discontinued medications.Check for damaged and outdated IV fluids and medications in work area and remove outdated stock.Assure equipment for provision of patient care is available and in working order (e.g. crash carts, PARx hand helds, packager, and printers).Assure drugs in Pyxis in correct place.Prepare prescribed medications, including compounded formulationsand IV's.Assure quality packaging, storage, safety, security, and distribution of medications.Train pharmacy technician traineesPerform additional duties as assignedRequirements:18 years of agePossess a high school diploma or GEDPass approved criminal background checksCompleted a Ohio State Board of Pharmacy approved training program(if required)National pharmacy technician certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)Registered with the OSBP as a certified pharmacy technicianRead, write, perform arithmetic calculations and follow verbal orwritten instructionsBasic computer skills and other common office terpersonal skills to interact effectively with pharmacy, nursing,and other healthcare employees.Analytic ability to perform assigned tasks.Licking Memorial Health Systems is an equal opportunity employer and maintains compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
