Primary tasks and duties will involve fulfilling prescription orders from start to finish, Reconstitutes and Compounds Suspensions, Inventory for CII-CIV Drugs and other tasks or duties when asked. Pharmacy technicians work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. They perform pharmacy-related functions as allowed by regulation. All pharmacy technicians working in Massachusetts must register with the state. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will work on a team and communicates effectively with team members and patients. Complies with policies, procedures, HIPAA, OSHA and actively seeks to expand clinical, technical and insurance knowledge.EducationHigh school diploma or G.E.DCompletion of Pharmacy Technician training course accredited by ASHP or PTCBMA Pharmacy Technician CertificateExperience1 year as a Certified Pharmacy Technician preferredSkills and KnowledgeWorking knowledge of different types of insurance's.The ability to work independently in fast paced environment performing multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent communication and problem solving skills; ability to interact with individuals at all levels knowledge of how a phone operates has ability to take a concise, correct messageDemonstrated telephone skills (i.e. call screening, message taking and giving), in a professional manner. Familiarity with use of personal computer in a Windows environment preferred.
