Job Summary and Qualifications
Job Summary:
  • As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of medications.
  • You will be responsible for filling and delivering oral medications, compounding parenteral medications, filling automated dispensing cabinets, inventory management, and filling code cart trays and pharmacy kits.
  • You will be responsible for restocking returned medications prior to the end of each shift and assisting with putting away pharmacy orders.
  • You will communicate with external customers regarding patient medication needs, and notify the Buyer of stock-outs and borrowing medications as needed in a timely manner.
  • You will fulfill technician job responsibility list for assigned shift and ensures appropriate hand off communication occurs and procedures are followed prior to leaving at the end of shift, ensuring proper documentation of all completed or in progress tasks

Qualifications

  • State Board of Pharmacy Registration
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)
  • Knowledge of general pharmacy practices and procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with coworkers, vendors and other hospital staff in all situations.
  • Demonstrated competency in each area of the Pharmacy Technician Orientation guide.
