Lead Pharmacy Technician

Day: Full -Time 1.0 FTE

Shift: 8am -4:30pm

General Summary

Under the supervision of Pharmacists, assists in the formulation, preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications and

pharmaceutical supplies.

* The Lead Technician reports to the Operations Managers. The job requires moderate level of supervision.
* The Lead Technician oversees pharmacy technician staff and communicates problems to the Pharmacy Operations Manager or

Pharmacist in charge for resolution as necessary.

* The Lead Technician observes established department policies, procedures and quality assurance programs, safety, security,

environmental and infection control standards.

* The Lead Technician performs routine inspections of pharmacy areas, completes inspection reports and documents problems observed

and corrective actions taken as necessary.

* The Lead Technician is in charge of the Pharmacy Technician staff daily schedule with coordination and approval from the Pharmacy

Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

* High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Must not have a previous conviction record.
* Experience in security, police, fire department, corrections, and other public contact work is desirable.
* Must successfully complete hospital-based aggression management training within one year of hire or transfer into position.
* Must have a valid Maryland driver's license.
* · Current CPR certification required or obtained prior to providing direct patient care.

What You Need to Be Successful:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of technician training program preferred.

Licensure: Certified pharmacy technician preferred.

Registered as Registered Pharmacy Technician with State of Maryland within six months of date of hire or

transfer into the position.

Work Experience: Two - three years working experience as a pharmacy technician in an institutional setting required.
