The Biostatistician II provides, as assigned and under guidance of more senior Biostatisticians, task- and study-based statistical support to Clinical Research & Development and other areas as assigned. All work performed under supervision of senior Biostatistics team members.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Apply understanding of statistical methodology in support of experimental design, in particular for clinical study protocols.
  • Perform task- and study-related statistical support such as randomization schedules, power calculations, etc.
  • Perform statistical analysis of routine Clinical study data using the statistical methodologies indicated in the study protocol. Annotate and validate analysis programs. Review analysis results with responsible Biostatisticians. May produce routine Statistical Reports.
  • Support Biostatistics group priorities and objectives. Keep abreast of relevant literature. Present research findings to Biostatistics team members (and others as relevant).
  • May perform tasks and/or research related to data analytics and their application to clinical studies/projects.
  • Develop successful working relationships with individual Biostatisticians and Biostatistics customers. Further develop and improve programming, presentation and communications skills, and ability to convey statistical information.
Requirements:


  • Doctoral (preferred) or Masters in Statistics/Biostatistics from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of statistical principles in study design and data analysis required.
  • Required software proficiency: SAS, R, MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability in SAS programming and R, supporting the analysis of data using linear mixed models, generalized linear mixed models, survival and categorical methods.
  • Ability to conduct power calculations, assess experimental designs, conduct analyses, and provide interpretation of results.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of statistical and/or data analytics principles via application to other assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate statistical information to non-statisticians.
  • Ability to work with and accept guidance from Biostatisticians to determine appropriate statistical analysis methods and efficient experimental designs to address project objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with differing priorities to meet time lines.
  • Possesses a solid foundation of statistical knowledge, including statistical methodology, exhibits strong communications skills, accepts guidance, applies learnings, and demonstrates motivation for contribution, continued learning and development.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities:


  • With a Doctoral degree one (1) years, or with a Masters degree four (4) years of experience in or relevant to the pharmaceutical, animal health, or agricultural science industry is desirable but not required.
  • Knowledge of data analytics principles is desirable.
