The Biostatistician provides, as assigned and with limited guidance from more senior Biostatisticians, task-based and study-level statistical support (including experimental design for routine studies) to Clinical Research & Development and other areas as assigned.

This role will be a hybrid role working about 50% in the Office and 50% from home as arranged directly with the leadership team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide statistical support at the study or project level, & in compliance with BI/regulatory guidelines, including experimental design and statistical analysis for routine Clinical studies.
Analyze routine clinical study data using the statistical methodologies according to the study protocol and regulatory requirements. Review analysis results with project/trial team. Generate routine, high-quality Statistical Reports. Be prepared to support answers to Regulatory questions regarding Biostatistics matters.
Support evaluation of alternative experimental designs, analysis methods, and statistical theory as relevant to BI projects. Keep abreast of relevant literature and new developments in statistical methodology. Further develop and improve programming skills.
Provide support to Biostatistics Group priorities and objectives as assigned. Work with team members to develop and refine group processes. Where possible, seek collaborations with global Biostatistics colleagues.
Develop successful working relationships with individual scientists, project teams, Data Management, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Project Management. Further develop and improve presentation and communications skills, and ability to convey statistical information.
Biostatistician III Requirements:
  • Doctoral (preferred) or Masters degree in Statistics/Biostatistics from an accredited institution.
  • With a Doctoral degree four (4) years, or with a Masters degree seven (7) years of industry or relevant experience.
  • Required software proficiency: SAS, R, MS Office applications. In particular, demonstrated ability in SAS programming and R, supporting the analysis of data using linear mixed models, generalized linear mixed models, survival and categorical methods.
  • Knowledge of statistical theory and application of statistical methodologies in study design and data analysis is required.
  • Understanding of applicable regulations governing the Animal Health industry.
  • Ability to conduct power calculations, assess experimental designs, conduct analyses, and provide interpretation of results.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate statistical information to non-statisticians.
  • Ability to work independently and with other biostatisticians to determine appropriate statistical analysis. methods and efficient experimental designs to address project objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with differing priorities to meet timelines.
  • Ability to negotiate among multiple parties to find mutually reasonable outcomes.
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with regulatory authorities on statistical issues at the trial level.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage project(s) from a statistical perspective.
  • Ability to with researchers and through communication determine the most effective and efficient design to address project objectives.
  • Applies a solid foundation of statistical knowledge, including statistical methodology, exhibits strong communications skills, accepts guidance, applies learnings, and demonstrates motivation for contribution, continued learning and development.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, animal health, or agricultural science industry is highly desirable, preferably including clinical trial design and analysis in the pharmaceutical/biological industry.
  • Expertise in particular scientific disciplines related to animal health or pharmaceutical/biological industry is highly desirable.
