CLINIC: Centura Health Physician Group (CHPG) St Anthony North Family Medicine - Westminster, CO

DETAILS: This is a full time position requiring 40 hours per week

HOURS: Monday - Friday; variable

Position Summary

The incumbent has direct patient contact primarily for the evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice of athletic training clinical competencies as defined by the NATABOC. The incumbent must perform many of the outlined tasks with minimal or no supervision in the clinical setting.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology or other related field

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • One year experience as an Athletic Trainer, or as a physician extender in a clinical setting


  • Current Certification by the board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer

  • BLS from the American Heart Association

  • Registered as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Colorado

Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )

■ Completes evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice

■ Delivers athlete medical care in a positive, caring, and empathetic manner while working to assure all patient questions are answered in a helpful manner.*

■ Demonstrates the ability to record accurate medical records as evidenced by annual chart review. Accurately documents the results of evaluations, rehabilitation progress, and other medical interventions.*

■ Applies tape, braces, and protective devices to prevent injury and maintains athletic equipment to assure safety as necessary.*

■ Provides proper referral information to patient/customer/physician as needed to aide in treatment when not available at facility.*

■ Meets productivity standards/data collection deadlines as established with ATC policy/procedure manual.*

■ Responsible for data collection and processing per established guidelines ensuring accuracy and timeliness.*

■ Attends annual school physicals providing support as needed. May assist in coordination of physicals.*

■ Maintains athletic training records.*

■ Performs education and counseling of athletes/coaches on sports related health topics.*

■ Provide education and counseling to the general public as requested.*

Physical Requirements

☑ Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
