Description
The Opportunity
Machine learning integrated with chemistry/biology at scale lies at the core of insitro's approach to rethinking drug discovery and development. This is a great opportunity for a molecular biologist with expertise in many types of nucleic acid handling and assay development with automation equipment. Required skills include: PCR, gel electrophoresis, biochemical assays, and automation on Agilent Bravo systems or similar automated equipment. Duties will also include working as part of a cross-functional team to automate collection of biological and chemical data for drug discovery. You will work in concert with numerous cross-functional teams, comprising machine learning engineers, life scientists, automation engineers and data scientists. You will demonstrate world-class research skills and experience in developing and using cutting-edge molecular biology methods and applying automation to streamline processes. You will hone your interpersonal skills, and build a strong collaborative work ethic, as well as the ability to adapt to changing needs, and the capacity to multitask to meet key goals. Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills are essential to success in this position.

Specifically, you will:
- Design and execute hypothesis-driven experiments
- Do PCR Amplification, analysis and purification of DNA samples
- Process DNA samples for NGS sequencing
- Contribute to the design, development, and validation of biochemical assays including assays involving DNA
- Participate in the design, development, optimization, validation and integration of automation processes for high-throughput parallel assays and analysis
- Operate and maintain automation systems
- Analyze experimental results
- Present results to cross-functional teams

You will be joining the founding team of a biotech startup that has long-term stability due to significant funding, but yet is very much in formation. Much can change in this early and exciting phase, providing many opportunities for significant impact. You will work closely with an exceptionally talented team, learn a broad range of skills, and help shape insitro's culture, strategic direction, and outcomes. Join us, and help make a difference to patients!

About insitro
insitro is a data-driven drug discovery and development company using machine learning and data at scale to transform the way that drugs are discovered and developed for patients. insitro is developing predictive machine learning models to discover underlying biologic state based on human cohort data and in-house generated cellular data at scale. These predictive models can be brought to bear on key bottlenecks in pharmaceutical R&D to advance novel targets and patient biomarkers, design therapeutics, and inform clinical strategy. insitro is advancing a wholly owned and partnered pipeline of biologic insights and molecules in neuroscience and metabolic diseases. Since formation in mid 2018, insitro has raised over $700 million from top tech, biotech, and crossover investors and from collaborations with pharmaceutical partners.
