The Position
Responsible for developing, managing and tracking the overall Patient Support Affordability Navigator Program to help patients understand available NNI support and product options as they relate to access and affordability. Management of this initiative includes, strategy development, database management, compliance and database information integrity, program tracking, metrics, analysis and reporting. Establishes an operational approach along with systems, procedures and processes to ensure operational excellence as measured by key performance metrics.


Relationships
Reports to the Senior Director, Patient Support Programs Circle of Excellence (COE), and manages a team of two direct reports. Key internal relationships include brand marketing, market access, commercial insights and analytics, IT, sales, medical/Clinical Medical & Regulatory (CMR), legal, compliance, and regulatory. Other internal relationships include Public Affairs, Government Affairs & US Corp Giving & Social Impact. External relationships include relations with patient/caregiver consultants and, key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional organizations, customers and patient support service providers and organizations.


Essential Functions
  • Lead Patient Affordability Navigator Program strategy and execution to continually enhance and empower patients through appropriate support related to patient access and affordability support through enrollment and resource utilization throughout the patient journey
  • Manage the strategy, development and ongoing optimization of Patient and Healthcare Professionals (HCP) Patient Support Program communications, education and database related to initial and ongoing patient access and affordability support
  • This role will maximize the effectiveness and applicability of Patient Support Programs, launch readiness and corporate integration
  • Lead development of promotional materials, with strong oversight of agency relationships including creative, data, digital and social account teams (brand, project management, creative strategy, copy). Deliver marketing briefs, understand timelines to accomplish tasks and anticipate any potential barriers that would impact project timelines
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Digital Health and Corporate Communications teams to ensure Novo Nordisk creates a consistent customer experience throughout all online and offline engagements
  • Lead creation of the annual Affordability Navigator strategic and tactical plans across the NNI portfolio
  • Evaluation and continual optimization of the Affordability Navigator strategies and tactical execution through tracking and reporting with established metrics
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the patient and development of the patient journey, deriving insights from the data that will help to inform strategy and tactical implications
  • Assess competitor services and anticipate future trends, related to both market offerings and consumer/user behavior needs and expectations, to develop and deliver appropriate solutions
  • Manage a team and invest in their development

Physical Requirements
10% overnight travel required.


Development of People
Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.


Qualifications
  • 7-10 years’ pharmaceutical sales and/or brand management and/or market access experience required
  • Experience with Patient Support Programs preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, MBA preferred
  • Anticipates problems and roadblocks to avoid crisis management
  • Budget and vendor management experience required
  • Develops accurate short- and long-term plans, forecasting, and business analysis
  • Ensures timely execution and follow-up. Meets deadlines
  • Intermediate proficiency in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel required
  • Planning, Execution and Follow-up – effectively prioritizes and spends time, and the time of others on what is important
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills, including stakeholder management
  • Strong organization and analytical skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Excellent communication (oral, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and lead a variety of external partnerships and vendors
  • Knowledge of regulatory, legal, privacy and healthcare compliance requirements preferred
