Job Description

Manage all aspects of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of a Management & Leadership Development curriculum. The curriculum should support Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) Leadership employees in achieving their professional development goals, build and enhance the organization’s talent pipeline in line with HR and Learning & Development vision, strategy, and business priorities. Provide Recommendations and subject matter expertise into the overall design strategy which specifically support and enhance competency based training.

Reports to the Director, Management and Leadership Development, interacts with stakeholders from key departments across NNI, including Sales, Marketing, Field Learning and Development, HR Business Partners, Sales Operations and Execution, HQ leadership, Learning & Development and other Home Office personnel regarding training initiatives. External relationships include management of and interaction with various vendors for training needs.

Essential Functions
Fiscal: Accountable for monitoring performance against allocated budgets and ensure budgets remain on track, this includes personal and trainee expense reports.

Training and Development: Acquire and maintain expertise in training methods, as well as technical, product and competitive knowledge. Develop self-study programs, when requested, and implement knowledge certification programs. Drive needs assessment and benchmarks for NNI programs across the healthcare industry in conjunction with the People Research and Analytics team. Ensure timely communication and deployment of all training activities to employees, as required enterprise wide. Focus and optimize development efforts on core leadership capabilities and competencies and incorporate methodologies to determine gaps in training and innovative training interventions to bridge the gap. Assist in the design of all basic and advanced levels of manager training which will incorporate various learning channels such as e-learning, print, video/audio and simulation techniques. Support and guide the Pre-POA and POA planning process and implementation (e.g., agendas, training workshops, reference guides) for field leadership. Work closely with key stakeholder areas enterprise wide to ensure that all elements support a continuous learning framework. Implement leadership training strategy including the Novo Nordisk Way of Coaching, Situational Leadership, etc. among new and tenured employees and managers (on-boarding and advanced training). Oversee the execution of workshops and coaching to ensure effective evaluation and development of technical skill and product knowledge and other job performance-related skills and knowledge. Consult with vendors to provide training programs and materials.

Physical Requirements
20-30% overnight travel required


* 6+ years Training experience required, Management & Leadership Development training experience preferred (relevant Novo Nordisk experience can be substituted where applicable)
* 2+ years of people management experience required 10 years relevant industry experience
* A Bachelor’s degree required
* Excellent interpersonal/presentation/communication skills
* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple internal relationships with personnel at all levels of the business. Heavy interface with senior-level management and HR business partners. Ability to manage external relationships including other Novo Nordisk affiliates, vendor, consultants, HR organizations and other professional associations/organizations
* Demonstrated success in creating strategic direction/plans and proven ability to implement and sustain business improvement and results; strong business acumen required. Experience in platform skills. Comfort level in formal presentation settings
* Knowledgeable in learning modalities (e.g. action/experiential learning, blended solutions, university programs)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
* Proven track record for sales and marketing performance results
