The Position
The Associate Director Health Systems Strategy is part of a team responsible for developing channel strategies that will ensure the best possible access position for existing and future NNI products. Identifies and delivers a deep understanding of changes and trends in the Health Systems landscape across therapeutic areas. Supports execution in health systems with an enterprise-wide mindset, ensuring a consistent and focused approach to Health Systems opportunities in the future. Focuses on the broader portfolio, inclusive of Diabetes and Obesity, and works closely with the Commercial and Medical Affairs organizations. Collaborates with Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) team in the development of evidence generation and population health needs.


Relationships
Reports to Senior Director, Health Systems & Non-Retail Strategy. Interacts frequently in collaboration with internal management and senior level representatives, including Sales Vice Presidents (VPs) and Directors, Medical and HEOR leaders. Interacts internally with team representatives from Marketing/Brands, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Commercial Pipeline, Field Sales, Account Management Teams, colleagues across the Market Access Strategy, Innovation and Execution group, among other relevant stakeholders on a routine basis.


Essential Functions
  • Helps inform, and executes on, overarching strategy for Health Systems business approach, ensuring cross-functional support for strategic direction, in order to achieve short-term and long-term business objectives
  • Ensures close collaboration with Medical Affairs, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, and Field Sales to identify business needs and gaps, and develop training plans and solutions
  • Ensures all field facing Health Systems teams are equipped with the right tools, resources, programs and information
  • Ensures access strategies are aligned with Marketing regarding portfolio/brand segment positioning and messaging, and with NNI and Novo Nordisk’s long-term goals
  • Recognizes opportunities and conceptualizes/pilots initiatives to drive strategies, processes, programs, and/or engagement models
  • Execution support for assigned Areas
  • Influences and drives organizational change and continuous innovation in an effort to enhance the effectiveness of our account management approach across business units
  • Develops and oversees implementation of key success metrics. Regularly reviews program progress to accomplish goals
  • Contributes to annual brand planning and budgeting process to represent health system and non-retail channels needs across the organization
  • Adheres to administrative policies and procedures and encourages others to do the same

Physical Requirements
20-30% overnight travel required.


Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience
  • MBA or another advanced degree preferred
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for degree, when appropriate
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to translate strategies into measurable tactical programs that have high return on investment (ROI)
  • Excellent relationship management skills to build and maintain positive relationships with senior leadership representatives
  • Strong understanding of the US payer and health systems environment, and how decisions are made across private & public channels
  • Have strong interpersonal; communication; analytical and project management skills
