Job Description Purpose
Analytic support to diabetes and obesity Marketing teams for evaluation of marketing tactics (Direct-to-Consumer advertising, physician Speaker Programs, sampling, email campaigns, Conventions, etc.) – to determine optimal spend levels, optimal subnational allocation of effort, and Return on Investment (ROI) with a focus on physician and patient level analytics, individual ROIs, media planning, and subnational heat maps.

Provide assistance maintaining and updating patient-level prescription data set that is the basis for all ROI and target list guidance.

Assist in developing presentations with clear storylines to communicate key conclusions and propose recommendations. Perform ad-hoc analyses in response to queries posed by stakeholders in a timely manner, while identifying and clarifying business need. Provide data to and manage outside vendors conducting secondary data analytics. Provide high-quality HCP lists per specifications of the marketing initiative using programming skills.

Reports to the Senior Director of Advanced Analytics. Internal relationships include Marketing brand leads, extended brand teams, and other Marketing stakeholders, other members of Marketing Effectiveness, as well as colleagues in Forecasting and Field Force Effectiveness. External relationships include secondary data vendors, consultants, and information technology developers.

Essential Functions
Business Analysis: Ensures supporting data follows Quality Control standards. Performs ad-hoc analyses in response to queries posed by brand teams, Executive Management, sales force, and/or other key stakeholders in a timely manner. Understands and where necessary creates innovative quantitative models as needed and documents with detailed assumptions and process.

Collaboration & Communication: Build close working relationships with key stakeholders, primarily in brand marketing team, but also in forecasting, field force effectiveness and other departments. In collaboration with the Senior Director, provides input into the development of presentations in order to convey clear storylines to communicate key conclusions and recommendations, driving team to action.

Marketing & Sales Effectiveness: Implements Return on Investment principles for reporting. Proposes and executes on improvements to existing processes and reporting. Supports sample optimization program jointly with Sales and Marketing.

Marketing Analysis: Identifies relevant process improvement projects to ensure that Marketing Investment team is working optimally with data, assessments, and stakeholders. Looks for innovative solutions to address key stakeholder needs after gathering input from stakeholders and sets direction accordingly; provides actionable recommendations. Recommends and conducts impact and ROI analysis of key marketing tactics for brand teams and COEs responsible for.

Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.

* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Economics, Computer Science, or other technical area is required. MS or MBA preferred
* A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in market analytics, forecasting, return on investment analysis, quantitative finance, pricing, data science, or other related areas. Alternatively, 1+ years of pharmaceutical consulting experience can be considered
* Most important, strong affinity for and desire for analytic problem-solving, and ability to work independently
* Prior experience with or strong desire to learn SAS, R, Python, Scala, or any other languages designed to rapidly analyze data
* Experience with analyzing structured data; experience with IMS data or other industry sources strongly preferred
* Intermediate to Advanced competence in using Excel and PowerPoint
* The ability to balance multiple projects with competing deadlines
* Writing, presentation, project management and influencing skills required
