Scope of Position:

Provide administrative support to division director and engineering fellow, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies within MTE. Additional support for the AMT staff as necessary. The Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Directorate (“AMT”) provides the integration of science and applied technologies to the Science and Technology R&D function in the Corporation. A key part of the AMT mission is to strategically align with Research & Development on new product and process developments for the Corporation. Another critical aspect is to enable manufacturing technology innovation in general for the Corporation. The annual budget of projects in the AMT portfolio is $24MM. AMT has a portfolio of projects that connects to both existing and emerging businesses. This Administrative Assistant job function supports the maintenance, organization and growth of the AMT Directorate.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Proactive calendar engineering and email organization for director

• Interface with all levels of Corning management including CTO, CIO and their staff

• Support Strategic Portfolio Management and AMT Dashboard by interfacing with S&T executive leaders in Research, Development, and EIG as well as CTO staff

• Assists in the planning of AMT Communication Meetings and Staff Meetings

• Organize and plan AMT Poster Session, Glass Finishing Conference, tours with key customers, etc.

• Assists AMT Chief of Staff • Prepares and submits expense reports for director • Screens phone calls and takes messages

• Assists in the preparation of restricted and confidential presentations

• Provides back-up coverage for other AMT Admin

• Travel arrangements both domestic and international • Assist with acquiring appropriate travel documentation including visa’s, passports, and invite letters

• Admin support for special projects (i.e. program reviews, Corporate Program Management course, Idea award)

• Coordinate events and activities as needed

• Track directorate safety compliance


Required Education and Experience:

AAS degree in business or equivalent work experience.

>5 years administrative experience with strong computer skills.

Knowledge of Sullivan Park facilities and MTE organization.
