This position provides specialized expertise in the area of accreditation and regulatory compliance organization-wide and functions as an advisor for all related stakeholders across Carilion Clinic, to include executives, managers, and physicians.  Works independently in a variety of office and clinic settings.  Schedule may vary based on project and survey deadlines requirements.  Job requires continual updating of knowledge of accreditation and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Required:  Bachelor's degree. Preferred:  Master’s degree (MBA, MA, MS, MPH, etc.).
 

Experience: Required:  Five (5) years of healthcare experience required.  Previous training and/or exposure to Joint Commission, CMS, or similar accreditation/regulatory standards.  Previous training and/or experience in basic performance improvement techniques and project management. Strongly desired:  Leadership experience.  Facilitation training and/or experience.  Training and/or experience in organizational development and change management.
 

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Required for hiring:  RN. Required within 24 months of starting:  Certification as Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or comparable certification approved by the department director.
 

Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to resolve problems, facilitate interdisciplinary teams, and creatively overcome barriers to success.  Experience with word processing, spreadsheet computer software, presentations, and basic data analysis/interpretation.  Excellent organizational skills.  Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a variety of individuals.  Demonstrated skills in training and consultation techniques.  Must have the ability to be flexible, prioritize, organize and complete assignments in a timely manner.  Must have the ability to work outside normal working hours on a periodic basis, such as during a Joint Commission survey.  Must be willing to travel regularly across Carilion Clinic.  Must be able to work with a minimal amount of supervision.
