Position Summary



This position is responsible for managing all areas and responsibilities relating to the 340B program in conjunction with the 340B corporate analyst. Will have oversight and audit responsibility for 340B compliance across the pharmacy enterprise. In addition, assist the Director in establishing specifications for the procurement of pharmaceuticals. Maintains system of purchasing history to include requesting credits. Evaluates and orders narcotics based on facility process for ordering and in conjunction with DEA requirements. Reviews 340B usage and drug purchases to ensure they are ordered on the correct account as established through the guidelines in the government. Responsible for auditing the 340B contract pharmacies on a monthly basis for compliance. This position will be full time and responsible for the auditing, monitoring, and compliance of the 340B program.



Minimum Education Requirements




  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Associate pharmacy technician degree, preferred

  • Certified technician, preferred



Minimum Experience Requirements




  • 3 years experience as a Pharmacy Tech, 340B program role, or Similar experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and drug nomenclature Experience with program planning, development and management.

  • Strong work ethic to provide comprehensive reports and consistently set and meet appropriate deadlines. Experience with 340B preferred



License/Certifications




  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification



Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )




  • Is knowledgeable in the use and stocking of automated medication cabinets.*

  • Knowledgeable about preparing IV admixtures, using sterile technique.*

  • In collaboration with the 340B Corporate Analyst, 340B Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for, including, but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Accountable to oversee inventory control related to 340B replenishment in all areas.*

  • Monitor compliance with processes to assure 340B acquired products are limited to patients meeting the established criteria for a qualifying visit and therefore minimize the risk of diversion.*

  • Monitor checks and balances in the contract and other 340B processes to ensure accuracy.*

  • Assist in the 340B pharmacy opportunities which may include developing collaboration across the system to leverage program opportunity.*

  • Responsible for financial oversight and assisting the Director with reporting relating to the 340B program.*

  • Assist 340B Corporate Analyst in the integration of contract pharmacies for the 340B program.*

  • Continually monitor and audit the 340B orders and contract pharmacies for program compliance.*

  • Assists Requisitioner with maintaining cost effective inventory levels of all formulary drugs and supplies.*

  • Audits the split biller software to ensure hospital complies with group purchasing contracts where available.*

  • Assists the Requisitioner with reviewing pharmacy stock for outdates, overstock, and proper storage on a routine basis to ensure the timely return of outdated items and/or recommended deletions from formulary based on movement of stock.*

  • Attends the quarterly Centura buyers meeting.*

  • Alerts pharmacy director, coordinator, clinical coordinator, or pharmacist and 340B Corporate Analyst of immediate problems requiring corrective action in a timely manner.*

  • Assists the clinical coordinator and pharmacy director by providing usage reports as requested.*

  • Performs special projects and other activities as assigned to increase and improve level of service, skill level, and productivity.*

  • Provide ongoing education to all related internal and external stakeholders about 340B in collaboration with the 340B Corporate Analyst.*

  • Participate in learning opportunities provided through SNHPA, the Prime Vendor Program, and HRSA Webinars.*

  • Provide verification of pricing to ensure accuracy and proper follow up if errors are found.*

  • Files and maintains purchase orders, invoices, and controlled substances forms in compliance with the needs of the department and regulatory agencies.*

  • Evaluate and ensure data integrity in reports.*

  • Responsible for financial oversight and reporting for inventory purchased and the 340B program.*

  • Provide accurate reporting relative to sales, cost of goods, dispensing fees, margin, and other relevant financial measures.*

  • Provide requested financial reports within specified deadlines.*



Physical Requirements



Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
