Work is mainly in laboratory setting, including monitoring of key processing parameters, troubleshooting/resolution of manufacturing problems, demonstration of new and/or improved processes, and assisting the manufacturing area in achieving productivity.  Work is closely supervised, but requires application of sound scientific principles, theories, concepts, and techniques, as well as competency is working safely in the antibiotic manufacturing environment.  The incumbent is expected to collect information and develop solutions to specific projects of a limited scope.  Assignments may be designed to develop professional knowledge and to provide broad experience and familiarization with Merck methods, standards, procedures, and practices.

 

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:
  • HS diploma
  • Junior or Senior studying  Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Interpersonal skills including flexibility and ability to work in a team environment.  
  • Good analytical and problem solving abilities.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Good interpersonal skills including flexibility and ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
