The Sr. Human Resources Generalist will be accountable for providing full HR support to a key business unit. Shell has three key areas in the Houston area that are focused on Corporate Functions, Downstream and Upstream. The responsibilities of this role will be to provide strategic and operational HR advice, coaching, development and support to the functional businesses; acting as the single point of contact for the leaders; and being an active member of one or more local leadership teams. The successful candidate will have responsibilities covering a broad spectrum of HR activities such as employee relations, performance management, EEO/AA, diversity, advice related to policies/processes, compensation, career development and coaching, talent management, change management, resourcing, learning interventions and leadership development.
Key responsibilitiesPartner with relevant local and/or global HR staff to ensure the development and delivery of the local HR processes and initiatives as well as the global HR strategies at the local level. Build capabilities within partner business groups to ensure HR processes and implemented; especially those related to the talent and leadership development agenda. Provide general HR support and advice to leaders and their respective extended leadership teams. Act as an effective employee advocate and support resolution of conflict. Assure local application of Global HR processes and systems. Support the delivery of the global and business HR Functional Plan as well as country or location initiatives. Deliver appropriate Organizational Effectiveness interventions with support from subject-matter experts. Partner with line leadership to enhance employee engagement
Assure HR-related compliance with company Code of Conduct as well as in the external legal context.

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer. Bachelor's degree with a preference in Business Administration or Human Resources Management. Masters Degree preferred. Minimum of 7 (seven) years experience in Human Resources. PHR or SPHR Certification is preferred. Demonstrated experience in the HR Generalist area with the ability to influence at all levels using effective interpersonal and coaching skills. Demonstrated experience with union employees is preferred. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and complete in a timely manner. Strong analytical, problem solving skills and stakeholder management capability. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with HR personnel - Global HR Partners, US Local Specialist staff: Policy, Legal, Benefits, Compensation etc
