Job DescriptionThe Therapeutic Area Communication Lead is responsible for the Scientific Communications for the SMA program. The lead will develop a comprehensive and integrated scientific communication plan that incorporates health literacy principles and digital dissemination tools. The lead is responsible for medical communications, publications and congress integration of the scientific communication plan. The lead is also responsible for overseeing the strong execution of all deliverables and ensuring that the regions, field medical leadership and field medical understand the scientific narrative, deliverables and content tools for their products. The lead must work with the other Therapeutic Area Communication Leads to ensure consistency and best practices throughout scientific communications.

QualificationsExperience and knowledge in the following areas are important: successful track record medical communications beyond publications; strong knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process; strong communication skills; ability to work well and lead within with cross-functional groups and in a matrix organization. Ability to work in ambiguity and lead without authority.
EducationPhD or PharmD (or MD) in a biological science or related field, and 7+ years of related experience at pharmaceutical company or medical communications agency.
