Description
Basic Qualification
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Memphis is located in the heart of Tennessee. We are surrounded by “Blues” legends, rich historical landmarks and southern charm. The Memphis site is a part of the Consumer Healthcare business, and is in the Global Manufacturing and Supply Division of GSK. At the present high speed manufacturing and packaging of powders and tablets, in addition to several other regional/national brands is the focus of the site. The production floor is highly automated, and the site operates 24/7.


The EHS Advisor will be responsible for establishing , implementing, managing and continuously improving the environment, health, and safety programs for the Memphis facility. The successful candidate will have broad knowledge of EHS compliance programs, and have a demonstrated track record of success around managing environmental compliance and management programs with complex manufacturing systems and processes.

Basic Qualifications include:
B.S. degree in science, engineering or EHS discipline with 4 years experience in EHS program development and implementation.
Professional certification in environmental compliance and programming
Experience leading behavioral safety programming across diverse workforce populations
Communication skills, and experience as a facilitator/trainer in EHS.
Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g. OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI, NFP and EPA)
Thorough understanding of machinery safety, risk management, chemical agents, explosive dust, waste management, air emissions
Project management skills

Requirements
Preferred Qualification
Experience in Consumer Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma principles
Familiarity with managing energy efficiency
