What Does Your Boss Say About You?
Description
Basic Qualification
BS/MS with 5-10 years experience in drug discovery with an emphasis in chemistry and enzymology. Proven laboratory skills in the biochemical/biophysical analysis of protein-ligand interactions, enzyme kinetics and assay development. Must have an ability to design biochemical assays and apply computational methods to quantify enzyme kinetics and bimolecular binding affinities.
Details
The Department of Screening and Compound Profiling is recruiting a highly trained scientist with a specialty in enzymology to participate in early stage drug discovery efforts. This individual will provide active input in configuring, optimizing, and performing biochemical assays for a range of biochemical targets, with the objective of identifying and advancing small molecule modulators of those systems. As such, the qualified scientist will be directly involved in hit identification efforts via high throughput screening and inhibitor evaluations as part of iterative medicinal chemistry campaigns. As part of this objective, the scientist will play a very active role in program teams and other departments in R&D.
Requirements
Preferred Qualification
Expertise in enzyme kinetics and macromolecular binding analysis is desired. The preferred candidate will have a demonstrated record of evaluating and optimizing biochemical systems (enzymatic and biophysical) and performing critical evaluation of the corresponding results. A candidate with experience in enzyme reaction mechanisms and protein-ligand interactions is preferred. A successful candidate must have excellent analytical skills, and be able to effectively communicate key discoveries in a team environment.
