GSK is seeking an Maintenance Shift Expert at our consumer healthcare manufacturing facility in Oak Hill, NY.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the purpose of the role is to deliver improvement to high and flexible speed packaging & manufacturing equipment uptime, performance & waste reduction through identification, prioritization and implementation of capital projects, maintenance programs and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Originating business cases for investment, training programs, and project timelines.
• Effectively troubleshoot high speed packaging machines, take corrective action to achieve optimum efficiency and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Effectively manage changeovers and continuously improve on target times and ways of working.
• Key point of contact for Failure Mode Cause/Effect Analysis (FMECA) review and generation of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Program for Area of Responsibility (AOR).
• Plan and execute preventative and reactive maintenance, according to standard operating procedures (SOP) and good manufacturing practice (GMP) requirements.
• Support equipment validations and new product introduction.
• Develop and deploy training program for new/existing Machine Maintenance Mechanics.
• Develop systems to collect and report performance data.
• Accountable for key performance metrics for continuous improvement including overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), changeover efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Lead operational teams in the creation and delivery of individual training plan; identify skills requirements and gaps generate improvement and mitigation plans.
• Provide technical support and guidance to operations team.
• Championing and supporting effective workplace organization, including lean and six sigma aspects and techniques.
• Attend and provide technical input in site and departmental meetings and improvement events.
• Follow and execute safety rules to include lock out tag out (LOTO).
Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate must possess:

Additionally Preferred candidates will possess:
• Electrical troubleshooting skills through understanding of machine alarms cause/effect and online PLC Trouble-shooting, and root cause analysis tools.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their components.
• Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and programming of Robots, scales, Vision Systems, Bar Code Units.
• Basic machine shop experience to include part design and fabrication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic PC operation.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently develop and train others.
• Ability to interact with Equipment OEM to troubleshoot machinery.
• Ability to work with CI and Packaging Engineer to identify, develop and maintain. improvements, create and maintain Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Program.
• Ability to coordinate and delegate Work Orders to ensure machinery reliability.
• Ability to perform basic operation inspection of Pressure Pots, assembly and troubleshooting of product pumps.
• Experience with the use of conditional monitoring techniques (i.e. vibration, thermal, harmonic, and lube analysis).
