| Description |
Basic Qualification
• BS degree in science related discipline in addition to 8+ years, R&D experience within healthcare/pharmaceuticals industry, including 5 years working in scientific function(s) related to over-the-counter (OTC) medicines. Minimum 5 years experience of managing multiple projects.
• Experience of managing external collaborators and achieving results.
• Proven ability to complete on time and within budget.
• Computer literate.
• Proven ability to be innovative and identifying novel solutions to technical and non-technical problems. Equally effective and comfortable working alone to progress individual responsibilities or operating within a team environment.
Details
• Initiate and lead applied research or technical evaluations on one or more assigned project.
• Manage and direct research in line with R&D and commercial category strategy.
• Identify and create new product opportunities and product improvements, which add value to the category, through internal research and the exploitation of external licensing opportunities.
• Evaluate all projects and opportunities with a high degree of scientific rigor, and ensure the highest standards are followed.
• Ensure adherence to HASAWA, COSHH, GMP, and GSK safety requirements.
• Write detailed and accurate scientific reports on the evaluation of new product opportunities, and when required, scientific position pieces on aspects of current products/ingredients
• Publish papers in the scientific and medical literature in support of new product developments, or product defense, as appropriate. |
