Description
Basic Qualification
PhD with strong relevant experience in either a chemical, biological or equivalent pharmaceutical science based discipline. Excellent scientific/technical abilities/experienced problem-solver at the technical level. Strong organization, data management, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Being adaptive, willing to pick up new skills and train others. Experience in DMPK and an understanding of the drug discovery/development process.
Experience in the use of modeling and simulation tools such as SimCYP, Gastroplus or Phoenix
Details
Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
o Support the design and drive the execution of key experimental studies to provide an understanding of the PK/PD relationship with an emphasis on target engagement. Perform modeling & simulation analyses and write reports.
o Use modeling as a thinking tool to help generate an experimentally testable question
o Participate as an active core member of project teams.
o Exceptional collaborative behavior such that relationships with scientists across the DMPK Community are developed and maintained.
Accountability:
o Designs and interprets complex experiments to impact decision making.
o Designs and tests new approaches / technologies to advance PK/PD capability.
o Keeps supervisor and matrix leaders informed of progress and activities.
o Presents effectively to internal forums and external meetings if appropriate.
o Follows safe Laboratory Practice, recognizes potential safety problems and takes action to rectify them.
Complexity:
o Anticipates problems and proactively interacts with other internal departments and/or contractors on project or functional issues.
o Active and influential scientific participant at project teams.
o Plans and conducts studies or scientific / technical procedures of a complex nature using a wide range of established or novel methods.
