• Significant experience in drug discovery and development, particularly non-clinical safety or drug metabolism activities, regulatory agency requirements, commercial requirements, and budget management.
• Experience in identifying and evaluating potential external partnerships and/or working with external suppliers
• Experience of working to European and FDA regulatory expectations and GxP procedures
Details
This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated drug development experts to join an evolving global team that will generate unique and effective approaches for preclinical development. This team will strengthen external partner companies with scientific advice, deliver integrated due diligence feedback to inform internal business development and financial decisions, and help grow a global network of suppliers to meet GSK’s increasingly complex preclinical development requirements.

Preclinical development (PCD) is developing Scinovo as part of the R&D strategy to deliver a major positive scientific impact on external activities undertaken on behalf of business partners within GSK R&D.

Scinovo will be the single point of contact for all PCD activities external to GSK, and will coordinate all PCD interactions with external partners/collaborators/suppliers in order to help progress GSKs projects.

This group will leverage the extensive drug development experience that exists in PCD to assure the solutions our partners need are delivered, so GSK can be further considered the partner of choice. The group will provide access to external preclinical work and/or expert scientific consultative services including due diligence for Business Development, the CEEDD or CEDD’s as required. Continued evolution of PCDs interface with the global contract supplier market in all aspects of non-clinical development science will also be a key responsibility for this new group.

Scinovo will be responsible for assuring quality and the placing of regulated preclinical work at various global contract suppliers, who will conduct the work on behalf of GSK for internal projects (via CEDDs, MDC’s and Business Units) or for the growing number of partner drug discovery companies via the CEEDD or CEDD/CEEDD collaborations. The new group will determine if these services could be provided by GSK or brokered to another supplier, with the emphasis on assuring the best (time/cost/quality) support is available to the specific portfolio or partner.

If you have a good scientific and drug development background, the ability to integrate data and express coherent positions and opinions and keen business acumen you could be a part of this innovative team.

Position located at Upper Merion - candidates must be based at or able to relocate to site. Employees moving into these roles will transfer at their current grade.
