Description
Basic Qualification
Master’s degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or a related discipline. Must have at least 12 months of experience in medicinal chemistry research in pharmaceutical industry including specific experience in (i) multi-step synthesis of organic molecules; (ii) use of solid-phase synthesis, solution-phase synthesis and microwave synthesis; (iii) development of new synthetic methodologies; (iv) SAR studies; (v) purification of organic compounds using HPLC, TLC, chromatography and crystallization; (vi) characterization of organic compounds using NMR, IR, UV, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis
Details
Conceive and plan efficient synthesis routes to molecules of interest and carry out synthesis reactions toward target molecules. Perform medicinal chemistry research including the synthesis of organic molecules using solid and solution phase techniques and microwave synthesis. Conduct structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies. Utilize state-of-the-art techniques for isolating and characterizing molecules including HPLC, TLC, chromatography, crystallization, NMR, IR, UV, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Design laboratory experiments and develop synthetic methods; maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and records of ideas and inventions. Use knowledge of medicinal chemistry to apply synthetic organic chemistry techniques to improve the pharmacokinetics of molecules for specified therapy targets. Utilize synthetic chemistry knowledge and chemistry literature to apply effective synthesis routes to achieve molecule design goals.
