Basic Qualification B.S. or M.S. in Oncology/Immunology/Cell or Molecular biology. Laboratory experience in oncology/cell or molecular biology/immunology. Details To exploit the rapidly developing opportunities that biopharmaceuticals offer for creating new medicines, GSK recently established the Biopharmaceutical Business Unit. This is a dedicated unit of 350 scientists, operating at three sites in the UK and US. The responsibility includes development of biopharmaceutical medicines from initial design and discovery through into clinical development. Our current projects include monoclonal antibodies, domain antibodies and recombinant proteins, addressing a wide range of therapeutic areas including cancer, respiratory, infectious disease, inflammation and metabolic diseases.
As part of the recruitment program in the Discovery Biology group within the BioPharm Business Unit, we have an exciting opportunity available for a talented cell biologist/immunologist with 5+ years of postgraduate experience. You will have a B.S. or preferably a M.S. in biology or immunology. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience to immunize animals and generate hybridomas, establish and run in vitro assay systems that include routine ELISAs, western blots, protein binding assays and experience with an array of tissue culture techniques. Preferably, you will have experience that includes phenotyping of cells (Flow cytometry) and basic immuno-histochemistry. Previous biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience in the area of protein therapeutics is desired, but not essential. Working in a well-resourced and intellectually stimulating environment, you will be empowered to influence the course of all of our projects through the generation and interpretation of high-quality data. This opportunity is located at our state of the art facility in Upper Merion. |
