Description
Basic Qualification
This position will be responsible for overseeing the Medical Strategy planning and implementation, in alignment with the brand strategies for our assets. This person will also be responsible for assessing the metrics and summarizing output to the NAMEX team and the commercial organization.

In addition, it is crucial to leverage all medical assets to ensure we are delivering the maximum value to the business. This person will be responsible for introducing innovation and best practices that will significantly leverage our resources to provide robust Medical support to the commercialization of our assets while also reducing inefficiencies. S/he will also be responsible for internal and external communications and ensuring training requirements are in place for all USP-funded colleagues.
It is essential that the position holder have a proven track record of demonstrated leadership and influencing skills in an extensively matrixed organization that spans R&D and commercial stakeholders. They must also have:
• A minimum of 10 years pharmaceutical industry and management experience that includes responsibility for medical affairs activities;
• A minimum of 10 years of Leadership experience
• Significant understanding and experience in industry regulatory and compliance issues
• Track record demonstrating the ability to integrate commercial and R&D objectives, with a strong focus on the US environment;
• Experience operating effectively and delivering results in a global organization;
• Experience leading effectively in a highly-matrixed organization with the ability to lead through influence as well as direct control.
• Ability to build confidence and trust with very senior executives in markets and in R&D;
• Ability to build relationships and create business solutions that address different business needs and objectives;
• Demonstrated flexible and forward-thinking, with a sense of the future direction of US and global healthcare and the willingness and ability to engage in determining the strategic direction of the organization.
• Ability to lead multiple tasks with demanding deadlines
• Proven strategic thinking and strong business acumen
• Excellent communication skill. Interpersonal and organization skills
• High degree of creativity and innovation
Details
• Ensure the commercial needs are integrated into the medical and scientific planning process by acting as an advisory across the MDCs, R&D Business Units and Clinical Operations
• Serve on behalf of the Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs, North America on key medical and commercial initiatives providing strategic direction and input
• Work closely with key medical and academic investigators, medical affairs and commercial teams to ensure that medical advice is incorporated into clinical and commercial development strategy including the development and execution of advisory boards and other initiatives
• Work closely with PPIC and Health Outcomes to ensure value of medical asset is communicated transparently to the appropriate external stakeholders and that data are available to respond to unsolicited inquiries regarding pharmaco-economics and health outcomes.
• Oversee internal and external communications on behalf of NA Medical Affairs.
• Oversee development and tracking of Individual Training Plans for all USP-funded Medical colleagues.
