Description
Basic Qualification
• 4 year BA/BS degree from an accredited institution
• Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel up to __%
• Valid drivers license
• 4 years sales experience including 2 years pharmaceutical or specialty representative experience
Details
Develop business plans and maintain a current profile of assigned key accounts, containing information regarding sales activities, results and customer needs in order to achieve specific sales objectives.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vaccine marketing, sales, contracting and national accounts to achieve sales objectives and goals.
Monitor bids and contracts within the assigned area, evaluate potential sales, develop and implement strategy for handling bids from submission through award.
Implement regional group-selling programs.
Conduct train the trainer session(s) with Public and Private OSHA/CDC Accounts.
Act as consultant and selling expert to Vaccine Sales Representatives in the assigned area and keep Managers informed of contracts and changes as they occur through the Region.
Develop and maintain relationships with influential healthcare industry providers, and promote greater use of GSK products and services through active membership and participation in national, state and local meetings, events and conventions.
Analyze area account sales information and recommend actions to maximize opportunities and resolve problems.
Develop objectives and strategies for maximizing sales and profits of GSK vaccines with companies affected by OSHA Industrial/ACIP guidelines. Promote services available to public and private customers.
Liaise with vaccine business group to identify specific product objectives. Propose and implement specific strategies and goals for groups affected by CDC, OSHA industrial/ACIP guidelines.
Manage contracts with companies affected by CDC, OSHA industrial/ACIP guidelines while promoting vaccine products.
Ensure all programs, projects, and distribution systems are set up to service the customer base and assure all are following Legal, Regulatory and GSK Contract and Distribution policies.
Attend SSMs to educate, train and develop sales representatives on trade strategies, vaccine strategies, performance and trade inventory status.

• Job performance results meet or exceed job requirements for previous 24 months.
• Strong product, customer and market knowledge.
• Mastery of group presentation and selling skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and consulting skills.
• Experience establishing and maintaining strong relationships with vaccine account customers.
• Demonstrated analytical abilities and planning skills.
• Ability to develop and implement business plans.
Advanced Level VAM positions (Zone 7-6) are available as promotional opportunities. Minimum requirements include (in addition to above):
• Minimum 5-6 years sales experience including 2 years Vaccine Account Manager or equivalent experience.
• Ability to contribute to the national strategic plan.
• Demonstrated skills and experience related to selling in association networks, health departments, coalition groups and supply houses.
• Demonstrated ability to train new Vaccine Account Managers.
• Ability to write portions of the national vaccines strategic plan.
