Basic Qualification If you believe you can be successful in a challenging vaccine manufacturing environment with a global organization and possess all of the following minimum qualifications, we encourage you to apply immediately:
• H.S. Diploma or equivalent required. • Prior hands on experience in a GMP environment. • Must be able to maintain visual qualifications: (checked annually) Qualifications include: ability to see all colors and the ability to visually discern product specifications on multiple vaccine products. • Ability to read, understand, follow and comply with technical and written documents (SOPs) in English. • Ability to perform calculations using simple mathematical formulas and a calculator includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. • Some mechanical aptitude in order to assist mechanics with line changeovers and identify mechanical issues while equipment is operational. • Must be able to work while wearing PPE for all GMP areas for an entire shift. (Includes safety shoes, glasses and hair\beard covers). • Demonstrated ability to exhibit: flexible thinking; a willingness to develop oneself and others; the ability to build and maintain relationships; be customer focused; enable and drive change in a dynamic work environment; and exhibit a continuous improvement mindset. • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly and easily learn new applications. • Physical requirements include pushing, pulling stooping, standing, climbing, twisting and lifting up to 50lbs. This includes the use of a manual hand jack. Details GSK Biologicals, N.A. with our global quest to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer, is seeking a Packaging Operator for our vaccine manufacturing facility in Marietta, PA.
The Packaging Operator will operate automatic packaging equipment to include: vial labelers, syringe labelers, bundlers, check weighers, manual pack out systems, manual shipping case palletizing, manual hand jacks and cardboard cartoning equipment in accordance with all applicable procedures and safety directives. Responsibilities include:
• Perform quality line checks, recording production quantities and reconciling for product and pre-printed components. • Perform pre and post line clearances. • Clean packaging equipment and work area. • Perform off line visual inspection of packaging materials, syringes, vials etc. • Recognize and report deviations, equipment concerns or potential problems. • Troubleshoots process equipment and interacts with maintenance personnel when repair is necessary. • Assist in developing standard operating procedures and training guides as needed. • Assure that all documentation is completed properly as required under GMP guidelines. • Perform real time on the floor batch record document review and interacting with the computer inventory control system.
