| Description |
Basic Qualification • Experience managing complex labor based sourcing categories. • Ability to research market trends, develop breakthrough sourcing strategies and create innovative compensation models. • Ability to forge strategic relationships with executive level internal stakeholders, external service providers and fellow Procurement colleagues from Fortune 100 companies. • Ability to proactively counsel, challenge and influence internal stakeholders as well as the external supply base. • Experience in leading dynamic sourcing teams, developing comprehensive RFI/RFPs, managing high profile sourcing events and drafting/negotiating contracts. • Has a proven track record as an early adopter and a heavy user of eProcurement technologies and techniques. • Holds a GSK Sourcing Group Management or CPM accreditation and has a solid understanding of related principles and process • Bachelors Degree Details • Develop and implement Procurement strategies that provide assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation aligned to the GSK Legal department’s objectives. • This individual is responsible for supporting all functional areas globally within the GSK Legal dept. Core functional areas include Legal Ops, Litigation, Mergers and Acquisitions, Patents, Trademarks, etc. • This position is a critical enabler for the Legal dept to achieve its Simplification and saving targets. Developing and executing sourcing and compensation strategies will deliver benefits against a multi-million dollar global budget. • There are three primary work streams underway. (1) Establishing direct relationships with Legal “Ancillary Service” Providers and directing GSK Law Firms to use these Preferred Providers, (2) Establishing Alternative Billing Arrangements (ABAs) with incumbent Law Firms and Legal Service Providers, (3) Conducting sourcing events at the matter/case level using eProcurement tools. • The legal profession continues to dramatically change. Clients no longer are willing to pay law firms and service providers using a time based billable hour model. Alternative Billing Arrangements (ABA) are the in vogue approach for paying for Legal services. Procurement is at the forefront of researching, designing and implementing these ABAs with outside counsel and the vendor base. • This role requires interfacing with senior stakeholder including the General Counsel and members of the Legal Management Team (LMT) as well as with partners at law firms and executives a various legal service providers. • Continue to expand the use of eProcurement technologies to source legal requirements at the matter /case level. • Assist in delivering targeted savings of 22.2M GBP in 2010. Developing new sourcing and compensation strategies that will deliver incremental savings year over year. • Record key information (Contracts, Savings, Source Plans, ExpenseMap coding, etc.) in Procurement systems and ensure Legal Service Procurement is in an audit ready position. • At the present time, this role will not have any direct or indirect staff. This individual will however interface and provide primary direction to a consulting firm who provides assistance with select sourcing projects.
