Basic Qualification
•5 – 8 years experience in Supply Chain Management
•Some background in other areas such as accounting, procurement, warehousing, and shipping

•Excellent interpersonal, networking, and broad-based communication skills
•Various Operational Excellence Tools; strong mathematical skills. Demonstrated ability to initiate process improvement.
•Change Management; Ability to work in a complex, fast pace environment with ever changing demands and requirements
•Demonstrated knowledge of GMP; particularly control and management of an inventory function, traceability, reconciliation. Knowledge of other regulations; OSHA, EEO, ADA

•This position provides leadership, organization, and supervision of the site’s planning and logistics processes, warehouse/distribution processes, strategic projects including new product introductions, data management for applications used throughout the Site (SAP, etc.)

•Oversee the Site Supply & Demand organization. Manages a staff of 3 consisting of the Logistics, Warehouse, and NMI/NPI Manager, and one full time vendor assigned to the Site. Responsible for the purchase of inventory amounting to $98 million contributing to an annual cost of sales for GSK of $500 million, managing the proper level of working capital to support customer service.

•Product mix is diverse (cosmetic to NDA product) and in some cases complex (e.g., Alli). Supply & Demand consists of over 400 produced resources and 1200 purchased consumed resources.

•Successful delivery of supply to meet demand to maintain high level of customer service targets and replenishment requirements for US & International markets, new product launches (e.g., Alli) and new markets.

•Ensure that Supply/Demand processes are properly supported with clearly defined responsibilities and appropriately aligned with any GMS Supply Chain strategies. Further it is the responsibility of this role to ensure that the appropriate roles are filled and are fully effective. Where development is indicated, this role is responsible for development of the individual(s) and the team in a short term and longer term skills assessment/development process.

•Assume a leadership role for new product launches as it relates to Supply & Demand. Area coordination with various Site and Corporate departments to ensure all documentation & processes addressed and appropriate system maintenance established in order to meet launch requirements.

•Evaluation of customer demand projections over a strategic period (e.g., 2 year horizon) to determine impact on the Site and long term strategic business plan.

Oversee the following aspects of PPV & Supplier Management:
•Supply organization aggressively pursues cost reduction opportunities within the purchasing process
•Supply organization identifies and addresses any risk that could cause a disruption in security of supply and communicates to Site & Corporate. Ensure Supply organization takes proactive steps in conjunction with other Site/Corporate functions to secure supply.
•Supply organization partners with Procurement and Quality with a target to correct any deficiencies with vendors (delivery times, delivery quantities, defects/rejects).

Oversee effective administration of International Supply from order receipt to distribution. Ensure the following:
•Site Demand Planning properly coordinates market demands in unison with supplying US markets.
•Conflicting/competing requirements are resolved and appropriately communicated to the markets.
•Establishment and ongoing maintenance of Customer Service agreements to support Global Supply.
•Measurements against CSA delivery are in place and that a high level of Customer Service is maintained with the International markets.


•Ensure processes are in place at a Site level to support any agreed Supply Chain performance measures (e.g., Internal Delivery Performance, Customer Service).

•Ensure science based tools used to support FRS (Fixed Repeating Schedule), Flow, Standardized ways of working, Fixed Repeating Deliveries, Strategic Safety Stocks, etc.

•Use of various tools (process re-engineering, design/programming, Operational Excellence tools, prototyping, etc.) to determine more efficient ways of working or workflow.

•Ensure various areas of the facility are in compliance with applicable operating procedures that could impact Supply & delivery of demand (inventory control, shop floor processing, reconciliations, Customer Service Agreements aligned with Technical Terms of Supply, etc.).

•Address compliance to global quality alerts issued for any areas within the remit of the role.

•Interface with other comparable roles within the Corporation: Director Supply Planning & Operations, Director Forecasting & Planning, Director Global Logistics, Procurement, etc.
