Description
Basic Qualification
Competencies:
• Ideally you will have studied in C# and SQL or similar
• System development understanding and knowledge
• Any knowledge/exposure to manufacturing is desirable
• Proactive, self starter,
• Analytical skills : able to identify problems through determining cause from the symptoms
• Strong analysis skills, both technically and process
• Strong communication including an ability to relate technical information to the business
Details
This is a unique opportunity to work in a global IT department and interact with colleagues in the UK, USA and Asia Pac.
GSK has a number of IT projects within their Manufacturing area. Some of these initiatives involve building purpose built applications using the latest Microsoft technologies. You will receive training and guidance to perform the IBL IT Development position. In return you will be able to assist in the ongoing development and support of these applications.
Day to day activities include:
• C and .NET programming activities
• Ongoing system support activities
• Change requests
• Assisting engineering with PLC / Scada / automation / network troubleshooting
• Determining / ensuring that processes are operating correctly
• Server support for factory shut down activities – server updates, major changes to systems.
Project based activities :
• Updating code and environment based on production line, product changes
• In Process Control testing / updating (IPCs)
• Keeping abreast of new developments in Information Technology and making recommendations for their use within the business.
• Attend design and implementation meetings
• Other duties as nominated by the Commercial IT Manager
