| Description |
Basic Qualification • BS/BA in Chemical engineering or equivalent technical discipline required. • Ten years prior experience in the bulk pharmaceutical industry. • Seven years prior manufacturing or development process engineering experience in biopharmaceutical industry. • Prior experience managing a technical staff (2 years minimum). • Prior project experience in the design, construction, and startup of a large scale bulk biopharmaceutical facilities including cell culture and/or microbial fermentation, or protein recovery and purification. • Demonstrated ability to manage projects to completion on time and within budget. • Knowledgeable in cGMP’s and NIH guidelines for large scale biological processing. • Strong technical understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and engineering practices. • Demonstrated ability to generate options to resolve problems, prioritize solutions, determine appropriate course of action, gain consensus on that recommendation, and implement the decision. • Must be able to interact well with peers, subordinates, and senior personnel in scientific, engineering, and operational disciplines. • Demonstrated ability to enhance team building, and to participate as a leader or member on a cross-functional and self-directed work team. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Knowledge of basic Project Management and presentations tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint) Details • Be the technical expert and leader for Process Engineering within the GMS Biopharm business, which includes biopharmaceutical products manufactured at the Upper Merion GMS Biopharm site as well as support for products manufactured at third party manufacturing sites. • Manage the technical support for process related equipment procedure development, and required staff operation and maintenance training. • Manage the evaluation and selection of new equipment or modifications to existing systems to consider new processing technologies or strategies. This may include an economic, environmental, quality, or productivity analysis. • Lead and manage technical design support of facility expansions and/or new plant construction, specifically in the arena of process and utilities engineering. • Be the primary point of contact for process engineering technical issues and process engineering capital management |
