Position Description
The primary responsibility of the Field Development Manager is to identify opportunities, barriers and challenges that the PR/Caribbean Sales Force is facing. Following thorough analysis, the position must recommend a course of action or solution to address the opportunities, barriers and challenges in the market. Ideally, the FDM would design, develop, implement and evaluate the solution, making course corrections as appropriate, in partnership with field-based colleagues, ultimately leading to improved sales performance. This position would interact across the range of commercial partners, also requires effectively interacting with internal business partners, primarily to assist in developing & executing sales strategies and Marketing messages to enhance performance, and educate and develop the Sales Force.

Position Responsibilites
• Support company business objectives by collaborating with the Puerto Rico and Caribbean management team, field management, internal and external partners to assess the current status of the business
• Identify areas of opportunity & develop solutions to improve/enhance sales performance
• Understand and assess market and product conditions influencing sales success
• Partner with the Regional Sales Managers to facilitate the implementation & application of strategies or tactics as agreed upon
• Work with local leadership to implement pull-through strategies
• Define clear metrics and measure outcomes of initiatives
• Build a network & develop working relationships with key DMs and high performing Sales Representative’s in order to define and propagate best practices to support strategic business goals
• Collaborate with local and regional cross functional groups to create field sales programs that support business unit strategies fully compliant with Regulatory and Business Conduct Standards
• Consistently and effectively communicate appropriate product, market, clinical, competitive information to sales organization in order to maximize sales results.
• Manage coordination of efforts with U.S. and Latin America sales, clinical and marketing teams to successfully execute clinical sales messaging and referral selling process programs
• Analyze competitive marketing and sales training activities, as well as benchmark other MDT business units to determine best practices as it relates to sales process training
• Continue to maintain and enhance disease state, therapy & device knowledge for all therapies & products.
• Support district meetings as needed or directed by Field Management
• Manage additional projects & perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Director and Business Managers
• Consistently and effectively communicate appropriate product, market, clinical, competitive information to sales organization in order to maximize sales results.
• In conjunction with business unit marketing, develop and execute effective product launches in the region. Support the development and execution of local initiatives where required.
• Meet with customers regularly to assess future market needs. Maintain positive relationships with key opinion leaders and customers.
• Analyse the market for major barriers to therapy expansion and create, implement and execute plans which will overcome those barriers.
• Document the market size, opportunity, and current penetration level. Design market development and marketing plans aimed at generating short and long-term growth.
• Provides continuing analysis of competitive information and recommends product enhancements or developments in order to maintain market leadership
• Identify patient pathway and change potential referring physician's behavior to adopt therapies in the region
• Must be able to travel 50% of time

Basic Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
• Prior related Sales and Marketing experience
• Medical Device Industry experience
• Understanding and prior experience working with the Latin America Region
• Proven ability to operate in a matrix enviroment and work effectively with sales management, customers and across geopgraphic and organizational boundaries.
• Experience in launching a new medical product and developing new markets.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) at all levels in an organization and with diverse groups.
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated good project management experience and capabilities.
• Fluency in Spanish and English languages

Desired/Preferred Qualifications
• Masters or MBA preferred
• 10 years of experience preferred
• Clinical or procedure experience
• Marketing experience

Physical Job Requirements
