Title: Vaccines Account Manager Location:CT, Connecticut/Rhode Island Req: 02190 The Vaccine Account Manager (VAM) will report to Manager, Public Health Sales and is primarily responsible for the promotion and achievement of assigned sales goals of MedImmune Incs. FluMist product within the identified vaccine targets. The VAM role will be a multi-faceted role and require strong communication, analytical and time management skills to achieve desired results. The VAM will work in collaboration with many internal (MedImmune) stakeholders (Product Management, RBD, ABM, GAM, NAM, CMM and BSSs) to properly position MedImmune and FluMist with the customer base. At the same time the VAM will interact with the target customer base to position MedImmune as a progressive, top tier biopharmaceutical company that can work with Public Health to meet their needs in addressing pressing health care issues. 1. Attain the assigned sales objectives and goals. VAMs are expected to achieve sales targets for their specified regions. 2. VAM must stay within stated budget guidelines for all operational expenses. 3. VAM role will adhere to all administrative expectations/timelines of the position (expense reports, call reporting, requested analyses) set forth by Vaccines Manager. 4. Serving as the FluMist sales arm for All VFC projects, State/County Immunization Programs and/or Coalitions, Corrections. More specifically: Federal/State Immunization Coordinators, State/County Health Departments (Public Health Director, Area Immunization Managers, State Vaccine Advisory personnel, School district personnel), State/County Medical Directors for Corrections, Coalition directors and members, doctors and RNs and Military (Department of Defense) decision makers. 5. Developing and executing specific strategic business plans for assigned geography and customer type (quantitative and qualitative). 6. Effectively executing account plans. The VAM is responsible for defining account objective(s) and action plan(s) to include targeting, prioritizing and clinically selling to a variety of Public Health customers. 7. Collaboration with Internal (MedImmune) stakeholders to ensure effective/efficient account management and accomplishment of stated objectives. Individuals in this position are expected to initiate and maintain a high level of effective, two-way communication with GAM, ABM, BSS, CMM, RAM, Advocacy Development Managers (ADM) and other RBU team members regarding the Public Health market and their activities.

A minimum of 2 - 4 years proven, successful sales experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Medical Products Industry and/or a documented successful work history in sales. Work experience in the Public Health setting is beneficial. VAM’s are expected to function effectively with minimal close supervision; therefore it is imperative that each possesses strong decision-making abilities, along with strong work ethic and self -discipline. The capacity to effectively respond to questions (internal and external) in an expeditious manner showing good judgement in all areas of the business. Self-motivated to seek out, recognize and act upon local market opportunities which can have both short and long term impact. The VAM should possess and be able to demonstrate creativity and problem solving skills. Because of the high degree of interaction with numerous internal and external customers, this individual will also need to exhibit strong judgement and decision making qualities.
Educational Requirements
4 Year College degree in Scientific/medical or business discipline preferred. Would consider combination of relevant combination of education and experience.
