Description Title: Associate Scientist I
Location: MD, Gaithersburg - Corporate Headquarters

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):
The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and performing FACS, ELISA, and other immunologic assays in a GLP-like environment to support clinical and pre-clinical programs. With minimal daily supervision, the successful candidate will be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously and organizing his/her workload to meet deadlines. This position will involve working with human and primate blood and tissues, using BL1 and BL2 laboratory procedures. The candidate will be expected to develop and perform various analytical assays including Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Luminex, and antibody microarrays. Ability to evaluate experimental results and help plan actions based on the results is essential. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing oral and written presentations and will work both independently and collaboratively to achieve goals. About the Organization My company shares my

| Requirements |
Position Requirements Candidate should have past experience in some of the following areas: ELISA, Luminex, and/or Flow cytometry; preferably in an assay development capacity. Experience with handling human blood/tissues is preferred, GLP/GMP experience is a plus. Attention to detail with excellent problem solving and outstanding documentation skills are required for this position. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. Computer skills, including MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required. The candidate must be an excellent team player and highly motivated to work in a fast paced environment.

Job Complexity: The individual may be asked to work on experiments associated with different projects during the course of a week or month’s time. The individual will be required to have excellent basic technical skills to perform experiments as well as be proficient in learning new techniques. Critical evaluation of experiments and communication of results and findings will be integral to the position.
Supervision: The individual will work with his/her supervisor and other team members in the initiation of projects but with minimal daily supervision on established projects. Educational Requirements Education: BA/BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology or related discipline
Experience: BA/BS candidate with 3-5+ years relevant experience or MS candidate with 1-3 years relevant experience
